Complimentary, CPD-credited training that turns Consumer Duty's estate planning obligations into a working process. What the eight sessions cover

The Kinherit Academy launches this month, and it exists for one reason: Consumer Duty asks advisers to spot and act on estate planning gaps, and almost nobody trains advisers to do it. The Academy is a programme of eight complimentary, CPD-credited sessions that closes that gap - practical, specific, and built around the process controls a compliance file actually needs.

The eight sessions

Session 1 - Wills, Trusts and the four threats: the foundations, and the three questions that turn every review into an estate planning conversation. Session 2 - Life events and when plans break: marriage, divorce, and a triggers checklistLife events and when plans break: marriage or civil partnership, divorce, and a triggers checklist for annual reviews. Session 3 - Business Relief: the April 2026 rule changes and which business-owner clients need urgent review. Session 4 - Property and trust planning: why ownership decides what a Will can do. Session 5 - Problem Wills and probate: the four ways Wills fail, with real disputed-Will case studies. Session 6 - Sideways disinheritance: blended families, remarriage risk, and the trust solution. Session 7 - Vulnerable clients and LPAs: both LPA types, capacity, and the red flags. Session 8 - the Kinvault handover: what happens after death, and how the handover protects families and the advice relationship.

How it works

Sessions 1 and 2 are the foundation and the best place to start; the specialist sessions work standalone or in sequence. Sessions run online, carry structured CPD credit, and cost nothing. Attendees leave each session with something usable the same week - a checklist, a set of questions, a list of clients to contact.

Our commitment

We have told the Consumer Duty Alliance that our aim is to get every partnered adviser through the Academy. It is the structural answer to a structural problem: referral quality should depend on process, not on memory.

Key takeaways

  • Eight complimentary, CPD-credited sessions covering the estate planning gaps that create foreseeable harm
  • Sessions 1 and 2 are the foundation; specialists work standalone
  • The aim: every partnered adviser through the programme
